On September 1, 32 youths escaped Nashville detention center through a fence. Many were caught immediately but by september 2 police had captured all but 8. Many of the teens had been convicted of up to three felonies. None have been convicted of homicide but some have committed armed robbery. On September 4 all but 6 had been captured.
Nicole Charky is the writer of the article and she wrote it as if surprised like many of us that the guarding of this center was so weak.

Now this is an incredible story, how does this happen? I hope that no one gets hurt and they are not up to trouble.. Even though they are causing some..

That's a pretty big group. Well now they know that they need to increase the security.
ReplyDeletei feel like the reason they felt the must to escape was because their bad actions led them into trouble and now they are so miserable and they would risk anything in order to get out... however escaping and getting caught will just longer their stay in prison. (sharon cordon 4 period)
ReplyDeleteThere's been a few prison escapes lately (this one and TJ Lane's comes to mind), and it makes you question the security of these institutions. A group of escapees this large isn't just luck, there has to be obvious flaws in the design of the center that need to be fixed. Even if they aren't killers, they still pose some kind of threat to society.
