A 6th grader named Joshua from Delaware has been repeatedly bullied for simply having the name Trump. Because of this, he has been invited to the White House on Tuesday to attend the State of the Union speech. In addition to Joshua, twelve others have been invited due to their circumstances, including a girl who was convicted for a drug offense she didn't commit and a survivor of the synagogue shooting.
This article was a listing of facts and didn't give many details, but I think that the author may have been trying to show that President Trump does have sympathy for some individuals and sometimes does things that are not seen in the media. I am personally glad that he would take the time to honor and invite those people who may be suffering or went through something difficult and I hope that he will continue this type of behavior. I also think that people are bullied sometimes for things that they cannot control, such as their names, and I hope that people who read this will see how ridiculous and sad that is to bully someone because of their last name.
That it very interesting and the kid shouldn't be bullied for his name because that is something he can't help,

DeleteThis is sad. No matter ones feeling toward the president, the bullying of this child is unnecessary.
ReplyDeleteEmma Burkey: This child, I'm sure, has no real connection to Trump and is in no way responsible for the man's irrational actions. He shouldn't be blamed for anything that associates him with that man.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the child is not responsible for anything that Trump has done, and it is not his fault that he was named after him. I agree that he shouldn't be blamed for anything that has to do with Trump.
ReplyDeleteI heard about this over the radio and my only question is .... why are 6 year olds so in the know of politics that they can bully a fellow student ?
