Due to an accusation against Russia in reference to the INF (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces) Treaty The U.S. announced they would be leaving said treaty. Russia denies going against the treaty but explained that if the U.S. were to leave the treaty, so would they. This could aggravate many of the European countries caught in the crossfire and, of course, could start another Nuclear Arms Race.
This relates to history because the INF Treaty was created so we could possibly better our relations with a country with opposing opinions. Just like with the Treaty of Versailles, countries are planning to end it without thinking of the betterment of the world. The only reason a country would want to create more nuclear missiles (which the INF treaty mostly prevented) is because they wish to use them.
