Rapper, 21 Savage was arrested early Sunday morning by ICE. ICE claims that 21 Savage was not in the United States legally and was a citizen of the United Kingdom. The rapper came to the states legally as a minor in 2005 with a visa, and was supposed to go back to the UK in 2006. Many of his fans are in shock because they thought he was from Atlanta.
I have heard many people say that they think 21 Savage was targeted, and I think this might be the case as well. It’s very strange that he has been in trouble with the law countless times before this incident, but hasn’t been arrested until now. He recently did a performance where he talked about kids being stuck at the border. This whole story seems very strange to me, and sometimes I question whether or not he is a citizen of the United Kingdom at all. This story can be compared to American man, Davino Watson who was falsely detained by ICE for more than three years

I think like everybody else, I was completely caught off guard when I heard about this. It is interesting how he has been in trouble with law and there was never an issue involving his citizenship. - Madison Malonson
