Alycesandra Martinez- 13 siblings held captive

Early this week police found a married couple that had been keeping their 13 children in a basement. These children had been physically abused, chained, and even sleep deprived. One of the children had been making a plan for two years to make an escape. The girls plan had worked where she had called the police. Since then her parents have faced many counts of torture and abuse. Police has said they have never seen a case like this before. All of the children have come out and spoke about their past. The parents were very abusive they even made them urinate in their own bed, and only let them bathe only once a year! The siblings had very to little no food. They said a 29 year old weighed only 82 pounds,After all of this the parents told the court that they were not guilty. 

I don't understand how parents can do this to their children. They kept having kids just to abuse them is not right! It's just not fair that these kids have lost their life and have lived in a basement.The torture was very extreme. The so called parents should be punished for what they did. I want to know what made it do it.
