FEMA Chief Slammed for Calling Puerto Rico Relief Efforts the 'Most Logistically Challenging Event'
Summary:
The people of America, also known as twitter, is firing back at FEMA for saying disaster relief efforts “the most logistically challenging event” for the USA. Security Chief Elaine Duke said “The bottom line is, is this is the most logistically challenging event the United States has ever seen and we have been moving and pushing as fast as the situation allows,”. Twitter users compare the efforts Duke speaks of to past USA events such as WW l and WW ll. They also compare this challenging event to landing man on the moon and launching the International Space Station. Even Juliette Kayyem so eloquently stated, as eloquently as you can on twitter, “Previous federal planning for PR relief knew these challenges. Distribution, logistics, "island" challenges were all known and trained for.”
Analysis:
This article was written by Kevin Lui today. Kevin has no prejudice in this article it simply states quotes and reactions of the people of America, in the form of twitter. I personally feel outraged that FEMA doesn't want to help the people of Puerto Rico it sorta reminds me of how America didn't take any Jews in before WW l when Hitler offered them. After declining the offer those Jews were slaughtered. The difference of this is that America, along with other strong countries, was in a depression and that these Jews were not American, but German. But in today's world America is at its peek, you know because we're making it great again, and Puerto Rico is apart of America, we should treat it as so.
I agree with you completely on the fact that America needs to help Puerto Rico. The people of Puerto Rico are U.S. citizens and they need our help. I understand that there has been a lot of natural disasters lately ,but it seems that Puerto Rico always gets left in the shadows
ReplyDeleteThe US has been pressured to react very quickly in a time of domestic stress, and Trump must act quickly to take care of his presidential promises, otherwise his approval rating will plummet like a rock in a lake.
