Kathryn Hine 10/2/17- Somali national arrested in 2 Edmonton attacks

A Somali man with an ISIS flag in his car drove into the back of a cop car and then stabbed the cop multiple times in the city of Edmonton, Canada. The man also injured 4 people after driving a truck through a busy street, but both the police officer and the injured people are expected to make a full recovery. These incidents are being investigated and are suspected to be acts or terrorism.

It's really sad that acts such as these have become so common and brushed aside. There are so many terrifying things happening in the world right now, and I hope that as a country and as a planet we will one day be able to find peace, although it seems unlikely.

This story reminded me of the attack on Nice France last summer. A man drove through a crowd of people in a large truck and at least 84 people died. This Edmonton attack was of much smaller scale, but the attacks were similar.

  1. This just ridiculous that events like this keep occurring. Especially in Canada; they usually are prone to less violence than this.

  3. I had no idea that this had happened. That is appalling and horrible and repetitive. I agree with you about how so much is happening right now that small but significant events like these are being brushed off. I also agree with Larsen about how these tragedies keep occurring; especially in a country that does not condone violence and actually succeeds at it except now.
