Father of missing child arrested - Ellie Bush

The father of a missing two-year-old has been arrested and charged Monday after changing the story about her disappearance, Texas police said.  Wesley Matthews provided “an alternate statement of events” about his adopted daughter Sherin to detectives hours after the body of a small child is found, Richardson police said. Matthews had previously claimed she went missing after he sent her alone into an alley when she wouldn’t drink her milk. Authorities did not provide additional details. He has been charged with injury to a child, a first degree felony punishable by life or from 5 to 99 years in prison.

This article was probably written to raise awareness about how parents are treating their children, and how it can lead to very serious things. It is very sad that children go missing all the time, and parents should always be watching and making sure their kids are safe.

  1. This is so sad and scary. I agree this article will hopefully be used to raise awareness about how people should parent and treat their children.

  2. I personally feel like there is more to the story that what has been reported on. Do you think people should have more intense evaluation before being able to adopt a child?

  3. I don't know how anyone thinks sending a CHILD to an alley out by themselves simply because they wouldn't drink milk is a smart idea. There seems to be a lot left to this situation, but regardless, it's a really terrible and unfortunate thing that happens way too often in the world today.

i feel like parenting is very important role in the life of a child specifically when they're adopted. I feel like hes getting the right sentence for what he did.

  5. Yes. I know everyone likes to mind their own business but if you know or feel a child is in danger please help. I hope this makes other people realize they should SPEAK UP and save a life.
