Summary: In a recently resurfaced audio tape of Donald Trump speaking with a radio show host in October of 2015, Trump claims to have met with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, once a long time ago. Recently, The president-elect received many accusations of being too compliant with the Russian official or of having a personal relationship with the Putin. It seems, though, that every time the topic is brought up, he has a different response every time. The President-elect has responded in many different ways that contradict each other such as ,"Yes, a long time ago. We go along great by the way," "I have no relationship with Putin. I've never met him," and "I spoke directly and indirectly, with President Putin. He could not have been nicer." This kind of inconsistency in a president will definitely raise red flags around the topic not only on whether Trump has a relationship with Putin, but also whether or not it is safe to have a Commander in Chief that is a habitual liar.
Synthesis: This topic ties to the times of the Gilded Age. There were many corrupt politicians that were easily swayed by big corporations for economic support and benefit. This is not to say the Trump is a completely corrupt politician, but it is more believable that he is being substantially influenced by the Russian government such as the politicians in the Gilded age.
Loved reading this. I totally agree. I don't think he is necessarily a bad person, but is being influenced by Russia for the sake of his bank account.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sydney, Trump might be influenced by things and people to make decisions.
