Ava Noble: 10 Dead in Georgia Storm

Summary: On last Saturday and Sunday night, severe weather hit Georgia, resulting in 12 deaths. In Cook County itself, eight people died. Two more people died in Berrien county and Brooks county. There is extensive property damage throughout the seven south Georgia counties affected by the storms. Alabama was also affected by these storms, but not as badly as Georgia was. Since June 2014, this is the first high-risk alert issued in this area. As many people mourn for their family, friends, and property lost, the counties affected will be needing a lot of assistance to repair the damage made.

Analysis: CNN being a trustworthy source, I completely believe all of the facts stated in this article. It makes my heart hurt that so many innocent people were injured or killed during these storms. I am hoping someday there will be a more protective layer of structure invented to prevent the storms from crushing the houses so easily. To synthesize, I can relate this to the tornados that crushed hundreds of houses last year in the Texas area. I remember flying home from California and seeing all of the debris on the ground. Before reading this article, I had not heard of the tragedy in Georgia. After hearing about it, it makes me want to do everything I can to repair the things these people lost. Although this is impossible, I hope the United States can come together and help these people in need.

  1. This was so sad to wake up to hear. Before the football there was a special moment by the Falcons.

    Good post.
