Summary: Recently, southern Georgia has been faced with extremely severe weather. The death toll resulting from these storms has come to a tragic 16 lives lost. Nathan Deal, the governor of Georgia, has declared a state of emergency in many counties. The National Weather Service has even issued a "high risk" alert due to these thunderstorms in southern Georgia and northern Florida. The southeast has also been struck with many tornadoes this past week.
Analysis: The damage these natural disasters have caused are tragic. Sadly, there is no way to prevent these disasters, only predict them. In the past, people did not have access to the technology today and had a harder time predicting such natural disasters. Entire communities were wiped out. Now, with the technology we have access to, people are able to evacuate if they are in serious danger. Many communities have even constructed special buildings that are able to withstand natural disasters.
