The search for peace has been prolongated for too long between the FARC rebels and the Colombian people.A conflict not solved completely now that about 50.2% of the FARC rebels voted no for an agreement. The government is planning on meeting this Monday to negotiate between the rebels leaders and settle more adequate terms for a new reconciliation .If the gathering ends in a chaos the president Juan Manuel Santos has set up a plan b which involves the elimination of 260,000 people. The FARC is a rebel group in Colombia that was founded by a communist party in 1964 , they believed the current Colombian system is unjust because only the wealthy run the country. The FARC wanted more rights and land, but because the communist party was seen as a threat the state neglected the request and sent troops instead.
During the transition in the guerrilla between the government and the rebels, many of the civilians were affected .The BBC informs us about the possible change, in the endless violence in Columbia.Just like Bacon's rebellion the rebels protested against governor William Berkey when they thought their governing system was unjust or ineffective to protect the people.I strongly believe that new possible peace between these two parties should be something worth a fighting even though both sides are showing opposition and uncertainty. It's \truth that Columbia was been in the civil war even before the guerrilla for about 10 years .Now known as La Violencia which killed about 200,000 and 300,00 people ,which were elicited mainly for the assassination of a liberal candidate Jorge Eliecer Gaitan.

This also reminds me of the federalist v. anti-federalist movement when the U.S. was attempting to ratify the Constitution. The anti-federalists believed that democracy was not upheld and that the Constitution was created to protect the elites' interest, which is similar to the FARC rebel group.
