Larissa Perez: 'Life-threatening' Hurricane Matthew swirls toward Haiti

Summary: On Monday Night a category 4 hurricane named hurricane Matthew struck Haiti and was considered very dangerous. The storm was made out of 145 mph winds and killed at least 3 people. There was up to 40 inches of rain, which made it worse considering they are still recovering from the 2010 earthquake. It is expected for the eye of the storm to be over Haiti at daybreak of Tuesday through Thursday. Florida is also expected to be hit Friday by this category 4 hurricane.

Analysis: This article was written by Max Blau, Holly Yan, and Steve Visser and published on Monday, October 3, 2016. Haiti has been hit with many natural disasters and they can't rebuild because of their poor financial state. There are also many third world countries that get hit by many natural disasters and these countries don't have the money to rebuild.

  1. Many times we (Americans) forget just how blessed we are. Even whenever there are storms and other natural disasters that hit us, our resources are still great to restore us. Sure hoping the storm turns just a bit.
