Syria's rebels and Russia want to have a ceasefire, but violence is prevailing among the rebels. Before they announced the planned truce there were more violent outbreaks. When they announced the ceasefire there were less violent outbreak, although there were still cases of shelling occurring between rebels and the government. This was the "second attempt this year by Washington and Moscow to bring the five-year civil war to an end."

It is terrible that they cannot find peace in this ongoing war. It is a travesty and the war is so detrimental. I hope that they continue to search for avenues of peace, whether that be through ceasefires (though I doubt their effectivity) or through a more lasting solution.
ReplyDeleteKiri Luckey: I agree they need to find peace between eachother. Two wrongs don't make a right, one needs to be the bigger person and make amends.

ReplyDeleteThis is awful. it seems like they were so close to making peace, but violence prevailed. It's awful that this is what our country has come to.
