Summary : Hillary Clinton got caught in a big private email scandal in 2013, regarding the Benghazi attacks. Mrs Clinton was detected using a private email server for work as the Secretary of State, the FBI uncovered over 30,000 emails regarding her job and classified information. In 2015 she finally printed off the emails over 900 pages at a time. This is also when the scandal became open to the public in the New York Times. Later that year Mrs Clinton announced her candidacy for president in the 2016 election. This is important because we as the people deserve to know what and who is trying to be are next leader.
Synthesis : This scandal is very similar to the Watergate one with president Richard Nixon, in the way that both have to do with people in high office. Since Hillary is running for president if she were to win the election she could possibly face the same taint to her presidency. For the most part when you think or hear about Richard Nixon you think about the Watergate scandal, no matter how many good things are done the bad always seem to cancel them out. Therefore Hillary could obtain the same reputation.

I think this article is very relevant to present day voters and the upcoming election. Because of her synthesis to the Nixon scandal, one can better understand why the Clinton scandal is such a large topic in the media.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that this was addressed and that Hillary eventually told about what happened. Although it did take some time to confess it's better that she told 2 years after the fact instead of waiting like 10 years. It would be hard to trust someone who kept a huge secret like that for that long.
