"Hey, Donald Trump: Please Don't Try to Reach Out to Muslims"

Angelica Salazar

The article begins to explain how Donald Trump is open to "softening" his deportation plan of more than 11 million immigrants. He says this and does his best to gain votes from many minorities. Even if he tries his failing attempt to take their sides, he still excludes Muslims. It is evident that Trump despises Muslims due to his plan of building a wall and keeping them out because of their stereotypical terrorist attacks. Not only for this particular reason but he also said that he was open to "special ID cards and a database to register all Muslims in America."

My opinion on this topic is as many others. I believe that Trump's ideas are too over the top and and can come with consequences to America. Deporting more than 11 million people is too extreme and "out there." It'll first decrease the population and leave out many innocent people who have done nothing to harm the country. This situation and Donald Trump in general reminds me of Hitler and his "Jew issue." As vile as that may sound, it ricochets across my mind several times. There are many similarities between the two but the ones I'd focus on to support my opinion is to say that first, Hitler blamed Jews for Germany's problems and Trump blames immigrants for the United States's problems, and second, Hitler thought Jews should wear special badges and Trump thinks Muslims should wear ID badges. This is a constant reminder and realization that history does repeat itself.

  1. When it comes to comparing horrible people throughout history, I find it a despicable thought that anyone should be compared to Hitler, no matter how bad a person. However, I do have to admit, some the ideals of Donald Trump are strikingly similar to those of Adolf Hitler.
