9 year old Hilde Kate Lysiak's dream of being s news reporter came true when she broke the story of a local murder. There is a lot of controversy surrounding the girl's report and her parents allowing her to research such a topic. The question of wether or not discussing such graphic crimes could negatively affect Hilde"s psyche. Wether or not this is an appropriate topic of discussion is placed on her parents.
This case is similar to historical examples of children performing the acts an adult or being forced to grow up too quickly like child laborers or children of war. Throughout history, many children have not been shielded from the truth of the world like they are today.
In my opinion, i have no problem with this little girl putting forth work to do something she enjoys. Eventually she will have to learn about the evil in the world so why not focus on bringing it to justice.
