A python found late last week in Malaysia could turn out to be the largest snake ever documented.According to The Guardian, a reticulated python measuring 26 feet long and weighing 551 pounds was found on the Malaysian island of Penang by construction workers.
Guinness World Records to date lists a 25.2-foot reticulated python named Medusa as the longest snake in captivity. Named for the pattern of their skin, reticulated pythons are found in Southeast Asia. They're the longest class of snake on Earth, non-venomous behemoths that take their prey by constriction (killing not by suffocation, contrary to popular belief, but by disrupting the animal's blood flow to vital organs). The snake found in Malaysia has not yet been measured officially for its record-setting potential. The enormous creature had been destined for transfer to Malaysia’s wildlife department, but it died on Sunday, after laying eggs, according to the BBC.
It’s unclear how the snake died, The Guardian wrote.
It is very interesting that some of the largest animals have been found in the recent years. I personally believe that because so much of the animals habitats are being shrunk everyday, animals are forced to eat food that isn't natural to their diet and more fattening; making them bigger and fatter like us americans!

This is very intriguing to know, because like these snakes humans have been getting increasingly larger over the years. It seems that the rest of the animal kingdom if doing the same.
