Tristan Spohn 3rd Period

In Illinois, there are plans to record the amount of miles people drive and to tax them on it!

Analysis: This reminds me of the series of taxes that Britain put on the original thirteen colonies, such as the stamp act. It puts a extra price on a commodity and, seeing as these acts led to the rebellion and succession of the colonies from Europe, I don't force this act going down very well. People already complain about gas prices as it is and having to pay even extra will likely infuriate them beyond comprehension.

  1. This is absolutely ridiculous. Gas already does that in a way. Taxes on how many miles you drive is the last thing people need right now.
