Search For Missing Navy Sailor - Olivia Browne Period 6

A large search off the coast of North Carolina is underway for a missing sailor who is presumed to have fallen off the deck of the USS Carter Hall on Saturday afternoon. The search over a 4.500-square-mile area off Cape Hatteras was still underway Monday, according to the U.S. Navy, with eight ships, and is being assisted by aircraft from both the Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. The identity of the sailor has not been released, but the search began after a female third-class petty officer was discovered missing at around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday.

Analysis: The Author is John Crawford and he appears to be a non-bias party. This article was created on April 11th, right after the incident had taken place, adding to the urgency. I had no prior knowledge of this event. The Audience is the concerned American public and this story has a negative effect on them due to the MIA status of the sailor. The reason for writing this article was to educate the American public on these occurrences. This directly relates to the sinking of the USS Maine and the amount of effect and coverage it got.
