Is Ted Cruz, born in Canada, eligible to run for president?
By: Morgan T. Smith
Summary: During the time when President Obama was running for president (and still now) people scrutinized his birthplace and claimed he was from Kenya. He then released the short form of his birth certificate to prove he was born
in Hawaii, then the long form. Even though the conspiracists died down, some still remained.
However, Texas Senator Ted Cruz was born outside the United States, a fact he willingly offered.
Cruz, who was born in Canada, has maintained there are no constitutional
barriers that prevent him from running. And so far the challenges to
his candidacy are few and far between.
if you look in the constitution the candidate must be 35 years of age and a resident of the United
States for 14 years. The third qualification: He or she must be a
"natural born citizen."
So should Cruz even be able to run for the 2016 presidency?
I don't think he should be able to run. I don't want him to win anyway #Bernie2016 but if you aren't born here and you HAVE to be a natural born citizen of this country to run for president. You don't qualify Ted.
