Case Cockrell- 3/28

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/denver-building-fire-traps-some-forces-others-to-jump/

Authorities say a fire raging in a Denver apartment building trapped some residents and left several people injured. The Denver Post reports firefighters rescued some trapped residents from the second-floor blaze late Sunday night, after others jumped. There was no clarification on how the fire started, nut when the firefighters finally came, there was no trouble in containing the fire. Joey Pacheco, a resident of the building, told the Post he saw a father trying to crawl back into the burning building to rescue his infant children. He said firefighters tackled the father, but later rescued the babies.

All fires start with one single spark. Therefore, something as simple as lighting a cigarette can burn a whole building down. We need to be extra cautious when using flammable substances. Fires can take our homes, and they can mostly caused because of carelessness.

I agree people should be cautious because something as simple as leaving a flat iron on can put people and their family's life at stake.
