Nicholas Godfrey Period 8: Pedestrians hit by blowdarts

Summary: Two pedestrians were both struck on the Golden Gate Bridge by an uncommon weapon. A blowdart. The paramedics came and evaluated the two then released them because they were fine. The police are now trying to figure out who did this and why. The darts that the victims were hit with are approximately five inches long and are sharpened very sharp on one end with a plastic cap on the other, allowing it to be fired from a blowdart gun. The darts are being tested now to check if they were coated with any type of chemicals. The police are now trying to get the public's help since they don't have any footage of what happened.

Analysis: A blowdart? Really? That's not even deadly unless it were to hit a specific point or if it was coated in chemicals like they are testing for right now. It's almost like they were just shooting these two for the fun of it or they might have just been made a little mad, because it doesn't seem like they were trying to go for the kill at all. It was interesting because as I read the article, there was only one part where they talked about them being okay and being released, which I had misread when I first read it so I had no idea what happened to them until I read it a second time. When I read this, it reminded me of the battles that occurred between the Native Americans and the English Colonists. It showed that these Native Americans couldn't defend themselves very well because the lack of advanced weapons. They had to use traditional weapons like the bow and arrow and blow darts.

  1. I think they were trying to kill someone, but not out of revenge or fun. Maybe whoever did it was trying to prove a point by saying the things we wouldn't think would hurt at all are the things that can hurt us the most.
