Summary: Harper Lee, author of iconic novel To Kill a Mockingbird, died in her sleep on Friday, February 19th, 2016, at the age of 89. She was buried in a private funeral in Monroeville, Alabama, her hometown. Wayne Flynt, one of her closest friends, delivered her eulogy.
Analysis: Harper Lee wrote one of the most influential books of all time, and it's been banned countless times from countless school districts across the world because of the blunt, honest content that exposes the horrors of racism. This book can be compared to photojournalist Jacob Griis' work, How the Other Half Lives, because it exposed the unlivable conditions of tenement houses in NYC during the Gilded Age. Both works opened the eyes of the public and continue to influence U.S. history. Lee's impact will be forever important and her novel will always be relevant to the lives of modern Americans, and I hope she rests in peace.

Lee's works depict how racist America was at the time and really opened people's eyes. This was also the case with Griis. I love love love the comparison, it's great.
