Victoria Rhodes 5th "Same Sex Kiss Causes Problems"

2 women were in what they thought to be paradise and were excited to leave their daily lives in Los Angeles only to be stuck in Hawaii for several months. Courtney Wilson and Taylor Guerrero were out buying groceries when an officer began to tell them that their behavior was inappropriate and that they couldn't do "that" here. confused because they just kissed on the cheek, the girls just thought it was a rude man that wasn't minding his own business so they continued to buy their groceries. at the check out counter the man who was in uniform followed them up there and said that they were very close to losing the privilege to be allowed on any food-land locations because of their foul behavior. when they called the police and tried to go outside to give the exact location to the police, the officer held the the girls back and wouldn't let go. a fight eventually broke it causing a lot of easily avoided injuries. the girls were then thrown in jail and had to pay all their vacation money to get out. they were left in Hawaii with no money and on the streets until they had temporary jobs and are currently rooming with a coworker.

I'm still appalled that people are still horrible to gay couples. the sooner people get over it, the sooner we can move on with the world and forget an issue that isn't even an issue in the first place. the girls were not doing anything wrong or illegal so the guard had no reason to confront them and also he had no reason to get physical with anyone. I'm confused as to why no one helped when they saw the situation of what was going on. if someone is being harassed then their is no reason why anyone couldn't have stepped in and helped. also why didn't the two women not attempt to call anyone they knew like family or friends to help them get out of Hawaii? anyone would've helped in their right mind if they knew the situation. discrimination has been prevalent to us since forever but we see this sort of discrimination when the irish came over from their country since americans thought they were doing everything all wrong and didn't treat them fairly like they would have treated a fellow american. i hope one day that everyone gets over their issues that have no positive input in the world soon because it's doing nothing good for us.

  1. It is very sad that such homophobia ensues in 2015. I hope that they find a way out of their current situation.

  2. Just the thought of being stuck in another state, more so an island, with no money and a minimum wage job is far worse than anything I could cope with. Unfortunately, they don't common sense to ask a relative for assistance lmao . -cassidy jones

Its one thing to be stuck anywhwere for a long period of time, but when that place is homophobic and is not accepting of you, that is not okay. If they want to shop together they should be allowed to. I know that some places are not as accepting, but if they dissaprove they should keep it to themselves and not threaten to kick them out of the store.

  5. This is honestly insane. It's not okay to not even be accepted in a place that you have been stuck in. I just think that if you have a problem, you should keep it to yourself.
