Keeleigh Everett 4th period Mother tries to kill her own Children

Summary: Recently a mother tried to poison her children by spoon feeding her children (a four year old and 2 year old) ant poison. She told her children she was going to kill them and herself. The four year old is in stable condition while the two year old is with other family members.

Analysts: Obviously this woman has something wrong in her mind to be able to take her own children's life and in the most unruling way. She has yet to find a law but there is speculation that she won't receive a fair trial because there is no proof of her being Mentally ill. All citizen have the right to a fair and speedy trial. But as seen here she all deserve a fair trial until proven guilty.

  1. Even if the situation seems obvious, everyone does have the right to a fair trial. This right needs to be upheld, even if the outcome can basically be seen before the trail even happens. We cannot deprive people of basic rights granted to them by the Constitution.

  2. I agree, i think that no matter what everyone has the right to a fair trial, sick or not. This problem needs to be addressed as soon as possible so that we can move on to focusing on the kids and the familty's problems.

  3. I agree. It is important to keep the system fair and constitutional, even if the outcome seems obvious.

  5. I think that the more stories that come out like this the more important it is for the United States to create laws specifically regarding a trial in which the criminal is mentally ill. Also I think that there should be a help and protection program put in place by the government for the family members/close friends of a victim, giving them fast and ample sevice as they recover from the effects of the crime.

  6. Good connection to the amendment! She must have some kind of illness in order to get into that kind of mental state although proving it will be difficult.
