Summary: Starting this Monday the Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia will establish an opening and closing time. This is proving a big problem for the homeless who call this place their home. The airport has decided that the amount of people residing here at night is too much for the night staff to handle. Reagan staff explains that the only reason this has become a problem was due to the excess amount of homeless not the fact that they were staying there. They have decided that if the people don't listen then the police will intervene.
Analysis: This event closely resembles the Indian removal Act of 1830. The homeless are being taken out of their homes forcefully and have to be sent to the cold streets. I don't believe theses measures are going to be effective. The homeless need to stay warm for the next few months and in order to do that will have to do some drastic things. They will probably have yo break into public places to stay warm and the new hours at RRNA are pushing them into it. Back in 1830 the United states pushed the Indians into doing things they didn't want to do such as fighting and even killing to live. Over 4,000 Indians died on the Trial Of Tears, what does the US today think is going to happen to the homeless in the streets with winter around the corner?
