Darren Wilson Resigns From the Police Force by Yasmine Bougacha (5th)

On November 29, 2014, Darren Wilson sent in his official resignation to the police department. He gave a statement as to why, which says "I have been told that my continued employment may put the residents and police officers of the city of Ferguson at risk, which is a circumstance that I cannot allow." Wilson was put on administrative leave since the August 9th murder of Michael Brown. Wilson has kept a low profile throughout the whole situation and has not made any public statements until an interview with ABC News, where he explains his "clean conscious" because he knows that he "did my [his] job right."
It is infuriating that this guy is getting off scotch-free from any punishment what so ever. He was not indicted in the trial, all charges against him were dismissed, and now he leaves his job to avoid any further punishment. Even if the killing was in self-defense as he claims, there are plenty of cases were people are charged with something like involuntary manslaughter and are sent to prison for a few years or even put on probation for a while. This just proves the fact that there are always exceptions for people with superior power.
