"I Can't Breathe" by: Zaria Chambers

Ever since a police officer in New York wasn't indicted on the wrongful death of Eric Garner many athletes have been joining in on this matter by wearing "I Cant Breathe Shirts."  On Monday night before the Cleveland Cavalries played the Brooklyn Nets famous basketball players such as LeBron James and  Kyrie Irving were spotted wearing this shirt while warming up.  The NBA players are showing their support for the wrongful death and for the family. Everyone is hoping for a change.

Once again we face this problem. There really needs to be something done about the justice system and things need to be fair. If there isn't a change things are just going to get worst and hopefully people begin to realize it.

  1. I never really understood the phrase "I can't breath." However, the support for the protest and the amount of people standing up to the court ruling is inspirational.

  2. Our Justice System desperately needs to be fixed. Our government has gone too far this time, along with trusted authorities.

  4. I agree with the above comments in stating that our justice system is flawed, but it will be hard for things to improve because of the amount of trust that is placed with the police force. The amount of support that other athletes are showing in this matter is very inspiring

  5. While the discrepancies in the justice system are a major issue that need to be addressed, the problem with this incident is the brutal and unnecessary measures taken by the police ENFORCING the law. Abuse of this power is a serious problem that cannot be overlooked.

  6. This is a major issue in America. The system itself is flawed. There is no way we can move past things like this as a people until we change the system of corruption that allows tragedies like this to occur with little to no repercussions for the police officers involved.
