Shooting in D.C. - Angel Pineda 1st Pd.

Just yesterday, a man named Aaron Alexis, a Navy contractor and former Navy reservist, opened fire at the Naval Sea Systems Command on Monday, killing 12 people before police shot him dead. Police sirens as well as emergency trucks were heard throughout Washington D.C. as they made their way to the Command Center. Apparently, a month back, Rhode Island police warned the U.S. Navy  that Alexis had reported "hearing voices," raising further questions about how he gained security clearance at the complex where he went on a shooting rampage. Alexis believed that people were following him throughout the past few months. Alexis as well was from Fort Worth, TX before he moved to D.C.

ANALYSIS: This is getting ridiculous. I'm at the point where I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mass shooting every month. We have had too many over the past 6-9 months and it is completely unacceptable. As always, my condolences to those who suffered, but this is getting to the point where this will soon become a daily basis, and I don't like saying this. We need change, fast.

  1. I heard about this last night. My mom read the tweet from CNN. It is crazy. They didn't find out until last night that he was an ex Navy and had previously been in trouble with shooting. The country needs to really crack down on who gets to carry a gun. I agree with you. This type of thing has been happening way too often. It gets me wondering..is there any place we're safe?
