Serena Wins U.S Open Championship by Joi Ware

Summary: Serena won to second place winner Victoria Azarenka in three sets at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The windy weather conditions got both players off to a rocky start, but they settled down after their service matches. In the matches they were both tied until Serena jumped ahead at 6-5. Williams got ahead fast in the second set, breaking Azarenka twice, but she was going to give up that fast coming back at 5-5.The second set came to a 8-6 ending with Azarenka taking the win, bringing the match to a tie. Many saw Azarenka worn out after the second set, after she gave all she had. This let Williams break away with a 6-1 third set win to win the whole U.S Open. This is to date Williams first defense to her U.S Open title and 17th Grand Slam win overall.

Analysis: Serena Williams is very well known tennis player, I mean lets face it when you think of women's tennis you think of Serena or counterpart and doubles partner, Venus. And when you think of these famous sports players, you always think of them as the winners and top players of the game. And although Serena has won the U.S Open Championship for 2 years in a row she doesn't always win. We look up to and idolize celebrities and athletes so much that we forget that they have faults and are regular people just like us.

  1. Good point about celebrities being just like us. Sometimes we do forget they are people, too. But some people are awesomer than us, like BEYONCÉ!!!!!!!
