This Article starts off saying that Kim-Jong-Un, the current dictator in North Korea, is actually not that bad of a person. Backing this idea up (sort of), the country of North Korea is planning on doing a diplomatic game of basketball. The current status of people in North Korea are as follows: People are tortured, beat, thrown in jail, etc for things as minor as saying one negative statement about the government. The buildings lining the North Korean streets are run down, some seeming almost inhabitable, and the country is starving with over 25% of all children under the age of 5 having chronic malnutrition. The journalists who are allowed into North Korea are required to stay within the confines of their hotel unless on a government bus, and they weren't even allowed to see what the country's currency looked like. Kim-Jong-Un, however, according to Dennis Rodman, just wants to talk, not even about politics, just talk in general. Furthering this, Rodman was allowed to hold Kim-Jong-Un's daughter, whose existence was held in secrecy. Kim-Jong-Un requested only one thing of Rodman, to "Tell the American people we're very cool."
This article surprised me. North Korea is one of the only communist country's in the world, and their generalized as being horrible and torturous, which they were at one point and still are. Kim-Jong-Un has not stopped the torturing and the jailings, but he definitely doesn't appear to endorse it. Kim-Il-Sung and Kim-Jong-Il ran a very militaristic and strict regime in North Korea, but Kim-Jong-Un doesn't seem to hold these traits according to this article. He's even allowing journalists into the country, which was never allowed in the earlier regimes (minus the undercover ones with that doctor from Mrs. Boettcher's video). His country is still starving and in poverty, but if he takes more control over the regime, which he has the authority to do, he may be able to bring prosperity for his country by reaching out to other countries. To get America's help, obviously they would probably be requested to change from a communist dictatorship into at least a capitalist system, but if he ends the suffering in North Korea, and maybe ends the Korean War (We only signed an armistice agreement, the war is still ongoing), then they may become another technologically advanced Asian country like their southern counterparts, and they would also end the threat of a Red Dawn-Esq war that everybody always seems to be afraid of. I don't know how things are in actuality over there, but if he's really like this article suggests, he may bring in a new era into the world, and who knows, maybe North Korean scientists will invent some sort of magical teleportation device or jetpack or something that is only prototyped/wished for.
Also, this Cyan text is amazing :).
