About 1,500 homes have been destroyed in Larimer Country, Colorado, by floods of gargantuan proportion. These monster waves are a result of the weeklong rains, and at least 4 people are believed to be dead. The 17 inches of rain have flooded an area almost the size of Delaware, and at least 1,000 people have been stranded and cut off from other communities. The total overall damage to the crops can't be known until the waters have completely receded and the rescue efforts finished.

I personally think there is still more effort required to fully help. Obama did free up funds to pay for rescue efforts and the Coast Guard and National Guard have rescued thousands of people, but maybe more people from bordering counties could pitch in. This article only mentioned national help and not so much local help, so maybe more is being done than what is being let on.

  1. It's always devastating when a natural disaster like this occurs. Hopefully these people will receive help and have their homes repaired so they can get back a degree of normalcy.
