The Border Wall: What Has Trump Built so Far?
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/01/05/us/border-wall.html
This article explains Trump's plans for the construction of the border wall between the US and Mexico. It goes over facts such as the barriers previously built before Trump's presidency, the refurbished barriers (some built during his presidency), and the planned construction for the wall, which is 55 miles. As of January, no additional barriers have been build since Trump has been President. The article also shows the current types of barriers being used for borders, and Trump's proposed prototype, which was not approved by the congressional bill allowing the additional barriers to be built in the near future.
I think this article is a good way to look at purely the facts and not exaggerated ideas of what Trump's plan is, it shows that the 1,000 mile proposed wall might not happen as soon as we think, or at all. The progress made on the border is nearly nothing and in order for the government to be released from the shutdown, it might have to stay that way. Looking at the facts of what has happened and what will be predicted to happen can ease the minds of those who might be concerned about these extreme plans being suggested. The plans being shown are very minor compared to wha Trump has presented us with, and it can be frustrating when what is happening is not what is completely being told to us by the President.
I really think that Trump himself didn't expect to win, so during campaigning the whole time he was just saying whatever he thought would be "huge" and "great".
ReplyDeleteTrump has definitely perfected his craft of persuasion, yet fortunately, when it comes to execution there are enough people in there right minds to know that a wall is not the proper way to go about it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Izzy , Trump comes up with the craziest "plans" and makes many people believe that whatever he says he's going to do, he would do. - Alma Alvarado- Cabrera
