Bryn Bohannan: 16 states sue Trump for emergency declaration

Summary:
Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Virginia and Michigan, and California all came together to go against Trump's emergency declaration. The 16 states that are suing are being led by California because the do not like that Trump wants to take $8 billion from the states to build the wall which in turn will hurt economy.
Analysis:
This reminds me when the Immigration Act of !924 went in action because both times there were controversy about the decision. The parties are split and they were also split during that time period. This just shows how the states' government are not agreeing or working with the federal government which is what caused the shutdown earlier this year.

  1. I am glad that some of our country’s states are standing up for what they believe in and taking action for what they believe is “wrong” . Lily Philips

  2. It is important that many states in the union are coming together and uniting against what shouldn’t be a present loophole in our system, and against the rash decision made by President Trump. I wonder what type of previous historical event this issue could be related to.
