While many can argue that Kamala D. Harris was joking about the use of marijuana during her radio interview this past Monday, the ideas of pot in politics is changing rapidly. Many of our important political figures in the past have owned up to the personal consumption of weed like Clinton, Obama, and Bush, however not until recently have the people of politics shown major support to its legalization. Harris during her interview not only owned up to her personal use, but openly expressed the importance of marijuana to her along with many other users lives. This outward expression is very important to the evolution of marijuana being legalized throughout the country.
This subject is similar to many of the prohibition debates that swept through the country during the early 20th century. With ought knowing it, making alcohol illegal rose crime rates in major cities and urban areas; if marijuana was legalized then many of the nations unknown issues could possibly be solved.

If marijuana was legal it would put some weed dealers out of business becuase companies could sell it. In this period of time everyone seems to be for the use of marijuana products.
ReplyDeleteI think that each state needs to decide for itself whether or not it wants to promote the marijuana business because it will effect each one differently. Great article!
ReplyDeletei honestly think this is a very important topic since el chapo got sentenced recently. he said in an interview something along the lines of drug trafficking will never end even if you put me away because dealers aren't the problem, consumers are, and in this case he was referring to the usa.
