Recently in California there have been awful mudslides that are exponentially increasing the death rate and injuries of people all over SoCal. So far, at least twenty have died and three have gone missing. All the main transportation ways have been shut down, including the highways that lead directly to downtown LA. Santa Barbara is the main location that has been hit. Early on Tuesday, fire and rescue have had to help and it has been announced that at least sixty-five houses have been destroyed. There have been so many natural disasters in Southern California, with the fires happening earlier and now these mudslides. Many people are still unaware, and there have been fights on twitter over ignorant celebrities.

This relates to APUSH, because now that people who are in higher power are in play, they are able to sometimes put things out that are inaccurate, just like people like Boss Tweed or Carnegie. I think that it is so sad for the people losing their homes and I hope the community comes together to help fix it.

  1. California just can't catch a break. I hope their relief sources are not overwhelmed and I hope they can recover as quickly as possible. The government should be supporting these people as they try to rebuild their lives.

  2. Do we know what is causing the mudslides? I agree that the fights on twitter are pointless, and not helping the situation at hand. I hope California is able to recover.
