As you all may or may not know a woman was recently fired for giving our dear loved president the finger some find explicit. Juli Brisknan was caught in the moment showing the Presidents motercade how she felt. “Angry and frustrated “ she told CNN explains why she flipped him off twice. Her company , Akima LCC, in which she was a marketing team member , informed her that she has broke company social media policy and that she was fired. Though Juli still has plenty to say , "Health care doesn't pass, but you try to dismantle it from the inside," And "Five-hundred people get shot in Las Vegas; you're doing nothing about it. You know, white supremacists have this big march and hurt a bunch of people down in Charlottesville and you call them good people."

Lol!! Wow..... just wow.
Are our rights really our rights??! In the first amendment of the construction it directly states that the people have a right to freedom of speech. This women was openly excersizing her right but she gets fired. So when our lovely Chief of State gets on Twitter and goes on hour rants discriminizing and judging others he gets no punishment. This shows the unfairness we have in our country. What ever happened to “ ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL “. We need to remember what we built our country from and move foward now backwards.
This article was written to inform you about the viral picture of the woman giving trump the bird. This relates to APUSH because in our past , many people have been punished severely for speaking out against their government. The US government gave us the power to do so if we please , but yet somehow we still get in trouble for it. Sounds like something need some changing.
I totally agree that it is wrong for the company to restrict her freedom of speech. However, I can also understand that although she has this right, there are just rules within the company so they can keep a clean image. In order to oversee these rules and secure our rights, we need to avoid companies and other authorities that have the power to control our rights and hold them away long enough until they no longer do.

ReplyDeleteHey, why is our president such a child?
ReplyDeleteTrue her protest was peaceful and she has a right to free speech, but that only protects her from government action; technically, a business can fire or reprimand her for using her right to free speech without breaking any laws, though whether that is morally right is an entirely different argument (though it totally isn't justifiable)

ReplyDeleteIght, so this is a fine example of who works for who. So I don't know if the woman should be fired or not, I'm not her boss and I'm not going to read the rule book for her work. I understand why this lovely lady was fired, when working in a job and you mention your personal ideas about politics that can be risky because people will associate you with the cooperation you work in. That cooperation doesn't want to be known as anti-Trump because maybe some Trump supporters are their clients. In the end it comes down to money. But, I don't think she shouldn't be able to flip off the president ( as long as you know the consequences that may occur because of your job- some bosses are chill). I don't think the lady would've been fired if she had protested in a different mannner, like marching and twitter rants and stuff, but bluntly insulting the Presidents online is going to put you in an awkward situation with you boss. Anyway, no matter who you are, when you become the President of America, your job is to do as the people please. Trump works for America, not the other way around.
