The Sutherland Springs church shooting, happening november 5th 2017, was a devastating event, comparable to The Las Vegas attacks not even a month prior. The attack, connected allegedly to domestic affairs, cost the lives of nearly 40 people, and injuring 20. The attacker had a history of domestic violence and was court-marshaled from the air force, but was still able to obtain firearms through security- related jobs.

This relates to not only 2nd amendment related issues today, but back to why the second amendment was created in the first place. The second amendment argues that citizens should be able to bear arms so that in the event of tyrranical military governments, they can take up equal arms to that of the military, and although seeing as people do not walk around with nuclear bombs, this has been disregarded, the prospect of a weapon capable of mowing down 60 people in 3 minutes was unthought of thus outdating the amendment as a whole.
