Allison Majors 11/12

A woman from Alabama was sentenced to prison for faking her cancer. For two years, she lied to multiple friends and family members, and even her own minor child, saying that she had cancer and was dying when really she wasn’t. She just wanted to get their sympathy and their money so she could buy drugs. She had collected a total of $264,163 in checks and cash, using social media and the internet, from these fooled people.
I can’t believe that someone would lie to their own child and say that they have cancer. This does so much emotional damage to a child and causes them to suffer much grief. Her kid’s life will not continue on in the same way now that he has been through this experience. She must have been a very good actor or just wanted those drugs really badly in order to convince people of her disease. I feel like a lie that big would be hard to pull off early on.

  1. How do you even fake cancer in the first place? I'm astonished and disgusted at the same time.

  3. I wonder if she was mentally ill? or just addicted to drugs? I feel like it would be hard to pull this off if you were completely sane.

  4. I agree that it was awful of her to fake cancer. The fact that she put her own greed before the emotions of her child is just terrible.
