Many of Flordia’s Sea Turtle Nests Were Destroyed by Hurricane Irma
The sea turtle nests have really suffered from the hurricanes affecting the Flordia coast. If more hurricanes come that could mean the end of many species of sea turtles such as: leatherback turtles, loggerheads, and green turtles. Unfortunately, we won’t know the full extent of the damage until the end of November because the nesting season will last until then. Honestly, I think the first hurricane should have been a wake up call saying that climate change is a real, serious thing that is greatly affecting the Earth for the worst. I cannot fathom how some people still don’t believe it as if these hurricanes are coming out of nowhere for no reason. We need to step up and save this planet before it destroys us first.
Sea turtles are a significant part of our ecosystem and how our whole world works. God blessed us with these beautiful creatures and I hope and pray that he will protect them and give them strength through this difficult time .
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad! I agree with Sophie, these creatures are beautiful and i hope there is a solution
ReplyDeleteI hope that the sea turtles will still be able to continue on after the hurricanes because they are such important animals.

I love sea turtles and this makes my heart hurt :(((. I hope that foundations that focus on protecting the ecosystem have a plan or are going to make a plan to try and remedy this.
