Wolfgang Hunter-Family upset after animal shelter amputates their cat’s leg

A Philadelphia family is upset that a local animal shelter had amputated the leg of the family cat after it escape less than forty-eight hours beforehand. Stinky the cat had a non-functioning rear leg, and the local animal shelter, after picking the cat up off of the streets, decided it would be a wise move to amputate the leg.

I understand the family's frustration with the animal shelter, but the goal of the institution was not to harm the cat, but to make it more viable for future adoption; I personally agree with the decision made by the shelter to amputate the cat's leg (or at least I do feel that the decision is more than justifiable).
