The Sandy Hook senator has a blunt message: 'It's time for Congress to get off its ass and do something
Chris Murphy, A democratic Connecticut senator has lots so say about gun laws. In the aftermath of the Las Vegas Strip Shooting, Murphy says "It is positively infuriating that my colleagues in Congress are so afraid of the gun industry that they pretend there aren't public policy responses to this epidemic. There are, and the thoughts and prayers of politicians are cruelly hollow if they are paired with continued legislative indifference. It's time for Congress to get off its ass and do something."
There are two things The South loves, guns and mud (and slurs?). I understand why we want the right to bear arms. In the right hands, guns are pretty cool. Right now though, it seems that the wrong hands are multiplying by the millisecond (try to say that 5 times fast). If we spent our attention on something worthwhile instead of screaming about taking a knee, maybe we'd get something accomplished. We definitely need to crack down and make some amendments.
This is why we need gun control! It's not that other countries don't have crazy people that makes them not have as many shootings, it's because they regulate who gets to use them. We don't need people shooting each other up in the streets anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe idea isn't to rid our country of guns, its getting a leash on who handles weapons of mass destruction. I'm not sure how anyone could oppose.
DeleteIt is important to recognize that gun are not the only weapon used in terror attacks. Statistically areas like Detroit with stricter gun laws have a high rate of gun related violence. Also we can see in Europe that guns are not necessary to cause mass death. I believe the tragic events in Nice, France are evident of this. Also guns aren't necessary in smaller acts of violence in Europe. In England they have no guns and you would think it would stop violent crimes, but authorities have seen a rise in Acid attacks where the weapon is a lot easier to obtain than a gun in the US. I believe these are important factors to consider before making any laws that could change our society.
