Opioid Outbreak- Michal Randolph
http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/29/health/opioid-fentanyl-childhood-friends/index.html
19-year-old Dustin Manning was found slumped over his bed and cold, he was pronounced dead on Friday, May 26. 18-year-old Joseph Abraham was found dead the same day. These are just two unfortunate lives of the 20,000 plus victims that have been affected from the Opioid out break of 2017. These two students grew up as childhood friends but they became more distant the older they got. Dustin started feeling signs of depression after the deaths of his two friends and "he always thought of drugs as "the way out"." He was first exposed to opioids when he broke his ankle ans again for his hand injury. They both died of the same drug from the same dealer says the police,"the casings look almost identical".
I believe that drugs are an issue an I've been made more aware of that because of the current situation at my school. Opioids are a very power full drug and it only took a very small amount to kill these two teenagers. Our current president has addressed the issue but he hasn't done anything to prevent it.
