Larsen Nichols-Trump Given a Subpoena for all Documents Relating to Assault Allegations
https://www.buzzfeed.com/jessicagarrison/subpoena-orders-trump-to-turn-over-documents-from-assault?utm_term=.iqMMRBoYE#.aeV3oJ7EG
Last October, Summer Zervos made a statement accusing Trump of kissing and grabbing her during a meeting in which the original purpose was to discuss a prospective job for Zervos. Trump denied her accusation, so Zervos sued him for defamation. Zervos is one of at least 12 women who have claimed Trump has sexually assaulted or raped them.
Trump's actions are flat-out outrageous and disgusting. Before I read this article, I knew that many women had made allegations against Trump, but reading this prompted me to do more research and find out just how many women have made a similar claim to Zervos's and the details of each of their claims. There are 12. TWELVE. And one of them was a thirteen year old girl. Trump made a blanket statement on twitter denying that any of these claims have any truth, but when this many people make such a signification accusation, there should be no question as to whether or not these events occurred. There should never be any question as to whether or not someone's rape or sexual assault claim is true.
This article was written yesterday at 11 am by Jessica Garrison and Kendall Taggart, two Buzzfeed News reporters. It was written to inform audiences of Zervos's allegation, Trump's denial of the statement, and how this could legally play out.
Synthesis: The events of this article can be compared to Thomas Jefferson's affair with Sally Hemmings, one of his slaves, with whom he had many children. People had suspicions and made claims that the affair had actually happened, but it was swept under the rug for years until DNA testing proved it to be true.

I feel as if this is such an embarrassment, to have this man represent our country at the moment, and without going too in depth about the many issues why; I believe these women deserve justice, as do any women who have experienced this.
ReplyDeleteIt's so disgusting that this is our president. It doesn't matter if these statements are untrue or not, just the fact that he is even being thought of in any way of sexual assault and rape is horrifying. No president should be associated with these assault claims.
ReplyDeleteI have to wonder if the president's constant provocation of political firestorms is partly to avert eyes from the mounting allegations of sexual assault, as the president's past actions and statements, especially those exposed during the campaign, don't cast him in the most favorable light concerning sexual misconduct (or anything).
