Words Starting a Civil War? -Alex Travell

http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/16/politics/donald-trump-puerto-rico-water-distribution/index.html

After the horrible disaster in Puerto Rico, there were some accusations towards the federal government regarding the supplies given to PR, yet Trump continues to defend them by saying it was PR's fault for the shortages. Trump recently told a conference that we continue to provide them with large amounts of water, but they just don't have distribution on the island. He then says that the military is helping with said distribution, which isn't their job. He basically said that PR has plenty of supplies, yet they don't have strong enough distribution chains.

I sort of agree with the idea that they potentially might need to strengthen their distribution chains, yet I don't agree with the fact that he keeps blaming it on them. I feel like if he continues to blame them, then it will eventually lead to a rebellion, or maybe even a civil war, for I know there are already people out there who hate Trump enough to rebel against him, myself. My point is, that all throughout history, civil wars and rebellions have ALWAYS been triggered by words, and we need to be careful right now with the way the POTUS uses his.

  1. I wrote about the same topic, but really dumbed down, and I do agree that they need to pick up their side of things but Trump is using his words incorrectly and will soon create more hate.

  2. I agree that Puerto Rico and the US need to strengthen their ties more. I also really liked how the article said that words trigger these civil wars. Sometimes not actual wars such as the threats between north Korea and the US. Its words and who has the biggest missile competition at this point.
