After Puerto Rico was crippled by a hurricane a few weeks ago, the US pledged to help. Federal Emergency Officials call it a very "“logistically complex and challenging event” because Puerto Rico was left with a "very fragile power system, very fragile public works system, and a very fragile roadway network system." It's also been hard to get supplies in because the airports and ports are closed. Many are angry at FEMA for such a slow response, though they have shipped hundreds of generators and other supplies.
This article is interesting because it explains how people get mad at the government for things (such as not helping fast enough) that they don't completely understand (how it's very complicated to help). It's important that the US is helping out it's unincorporated territory and it's good that they are getting better, though slowly.
I'm glad this is finally being taken care of. I hate hearing that no one is doing anything when events like this occur.
