Dianne Lake a former member of the Manson Family details her life as apart of the infamous cult. She says she met Manson when she was 14 years old. She says they had sex the first day she met him at 14, he would've been 34 at the time. She says he had a way of making you feel like you were the only one he loved, even if he was seeing multiple women at the same time. She wasn't present for the killings, but she did testify in court against the former cult she used to be apart of. She wrote a book about her experience, and described it as a huge wave of relief for her to get that out of her system. It provided some closure to this dark portion of her life.
I think it's always so interesting to learn about cults and how people get driven into them. It seems like such a black and white situation, but as she described it seemed "natural" to be with this man for her. It brings up a lot of discussion on psychology and how seemingly average people can go to such extremes when put in certain situations.
