Flint Water Crisis//Trevor Turnbow

In Flint Michigan the citizens have been without clean drinking water for awhile. In court they are trying doctor Eden  Wells for knowledge of the disease in the water and not going forward into research with it, and telling her scientists to not track the source. Multiple others are also taking the fall for conspiracy surrounding the Flint water crisis. Many citizens believed they poisoned the citizens of Flint, they seek justice.
It's awful to think of government officials consciously making decisions to deprive and hurt people. It shows the power that they hold, they can sweep something under the rug if they want to without anyone really noticing. It's also upsetting the Flint is such a low interest news story, this water crisis has been happening for years and they can't even make the top of the website. It shows where priorities tend to lie. It can change your perspective on a situation as a whole.

  1. It's really easy, I think, to forget about the water crisis in Flint because it's so seldom reported on these days, which is terrible because people are still taking water bottle showers and struggling to make it from day to day because they're receiving hardly any federal aid. It's horrible how people can value something as trivial as Kylie Jenner's child over people that are really in need of our help and support.

This on is closer to my heart. Because my parents are from Detroit and I use to visit Detroit every summer. But now Detroit and, Michigan in general, has not been using there tax dollars for things that would help the state. They're are a thousand (not a thousand more like Hundreds) of abandoned houses that are falling apart. There are trash in the streets, piles of it, and now there is now clean water. The Governor needs to fix this.

  3. I think the main problem is the different views people have on this country. Reporters trying to make a living tend to cover the new and exciting, not the important stuff that maybe is more melancholy. This is the main problem in this country. It’s not the governments fault specifically and it’s not the citizens fault specifically, it’s something that needs to be accounted for and fixed through all sides of our countries social interactions

  4. It's unacceptable that this still has not been resolved. It's been over two years, and barely anything has been done to fix this problem. The state and federal governments need to pay attention to Flint, and at least try to fix their water situation.

  5. I did a post about tainted drinking water in Puerto Rico, and I automatically thought about Flint. It's appalling that these stories receive brief media attention before being forgotten by the general public. While fixing such a problem takes time, it should be a top priority since water is essential to survival.
