Allison Majors 10/22

Schools are beginning to reopen in Puerto Rico, following their devastating hurricane. Many kids are excited to see their friends again and return to normalcy. A drama teacher hopes to rely on the arts in order to heal everyone’s mind and bring positivity back. School might have to continue through the month of June because of all the time that has been lost, which is disappointing to kids who look forward to summer and it’s relaxing attributes.
This article brings a tiny bit of hope to us that conditions in Puerto Rico are on their way to improvement. Returning to school will help people heal and continue on with life instead of staying stuck in the past. I had already known prior to reading this article of the incredible damage that the hurricane has done to the island, so the fact that school is coming back is very successful in itself. I hope little acts of improvement continue to spark for them.

  1. Schools being reopened is very good, to let the kids have something to distract themselves from what has happened to and around them.

  5. I'm really glad that they are starting to recover from the hurricanes, and I even bet the kids were glad to go back to school since they had nothing else to do for so long.
